Fauquier County Home Renovation
At John Paul Design Build, we take pride in transforming homes across Northern Virginia. Our latest project in Fauquier County delivers a stunning staircase renovation and two beautifully reimagined bathrooms for an aging couple seeking safety, functionality, and timeless style. This renovation blends modern design with practical solutions, creating spaces that elevate both form and function. Let’s dive into the details of our recent construction project.
ORIGINAL STAIRCASE
Reimagining the Staircase
The original staircase in this Nova home was a significant concern for our clients. Narrow and dangerously steep, it posed a daily challenge for the aging couple, making navigation difficult and unsafe. As experienced Northern Virginia builders, we knew this was an opportunity to create a solution that prioritized safety without sacrificing aesthetics. We designed and installed a new staircase that addresses these concerns with a thoughtful layout. By introducing a gentle bend in the design, we achieved a safer, more gradual incline, making the staircase easier to navigate for our clients.
This reconfigured layout ensures every step is comfortable and secure, eliminating the hazards of the original stairwell. The aesthetic of the new staircase is equally impressive. We combined modern metal wire railings with traditional staircase posts to create a striking balance of contemporary and classic design. The horizontal wire railings allow light to flow through, opening up the space and giving it a sleek and modern feel. The result is a staircase that’s not only safer but also a stunning focal point in the home.
In addition to the staircase, we transformed two bathrooms: a half bathroom in the foyer and a full bathroom in the basement. In the full bath we installed a modern sink with a streamlined faucet, paired with a custom cabinet that maximizes storage without overwhelming the space. At the heart of the space is a walk-in shower featuring a seamless, level entry that eliminates tripping hazards. The stone flooring adds a natural, grounding element, while the warm tiling in the shower creates an inviting, cozy ambiance. High-end fixtures and a frameless glass shower door complete the space.
